XLO India Limited was formed in the year 1958 (formerly known as Ex-Cell-O India Limited) with technical and equity participation from Ex-Cell-O Corporation of USA. In the beginning (1960's) three Products with following collaborations were manufactured at our Plant at Thane near Mumbai.

Steering Gear Assemblies - Ross Gear Divisions of TRW Inc., USA.
(from year 1964 to year 1974)
Machine Tools - Ex-Cell-O Corporation, USA. (till year 1978).
With XLO's expansion, Steering Gear manufacturing activities were shifted to new plant at Nashik 185 kms from Mumbai during 1974/1975. In 1984/85, XLO underwent a major corporate restructing programme. Each product division was spun off into separate companies. During 1995 Machine Tools Division was sold off. The two products viz. Steering Gear Assemblies & Propeller Shafts are now being manufactured at two separate companies & at two separate plants as follows.
