" FOR THE EMANCIPATION OF THE SELF AND WELFARE OF HUMANITY "
Company Profile
"For self realization and the good of the world" that the is the raison d'etre of the Ramakrishna Order. The truths Bhagwan Shri Ramakrishna directly perceived and imparted to his disciples, broadcasting those truths to society at large and striving for the material and spiritual elevation of mankind are the order's basic goals. The narrowness of "Organisational Culture" is incompatible with the motto or Ramakrishna Order. Nevertheless it fervently adheres to Shri Ramakrishna's cardinal teaching: the divinity of man and the service of god in man. Swami Vivekananda realized this teaching in his own life. He envisioned sanyasins to be not only concerned with their own self realization but wished that, seeing Narayana in all, they engage in selfless service of the destitute, the weak, the homeless, the crippled, the needy. That is why he founded the Ramakrishna Order with well-defined guidelines.
Any sectarian ideology or religion or methodology does not bind the Ramakrishna Order. A broad and liberal outlook, the well being of humanity, has motivated it from its very inception. That is why it has several branches not only in India but also abroad.
Ramakrishna Math of Pune
During his countrywide itinerary in 1892-93 Jagadguru Swami Vivekananda's holy feet had touched the sacred soil of Pune. Hence it was but natural that a branch of Ramakrishna Order is established in Pune. A beginning was made in 1926 when the "Vivekananda Society" was established under the leadership of Sardar Mudaliyar, Gurdev R.D. Ranade and Hari Bhakta Parayan Sonopant Dandekar. Precisely 30 years later, in 1956 in the magnificient society of Singhad Road, adjacent to Dandekar Bridge, above which looms the lovely Parati Temple, was founded the "Shri Ramakrishna Ashram". Years of efforts of householder devotees fructified in the formal transfer of the Ashram to the Ramakrishna Order in 1984. Thus Ramakrishna Math at Pune came into existence.
